Welcome to our Musikgarten!!!
We are so happy that you are considering music classes for your child. Music is fun! It not only honours cultural heritage and builds community, but meets basic emotional needs and provides a structured forum to develop self-discipline, problem solving, and self-expression.
Did you know that the period of greatest neurological development is from birth to 6 years? During this time a child's brain is making connections from neuron to neuron at a rate which will never again be repeated in their lifetime. These neural connections facilitate learning and strengthen the child's ability to reason in disciplines such as higher mathematics and science. When certain connections are not made during these formative years, learning must go through different and more complex pathways. As a child grows, the neural connection rate slows and certain learning windows pass.
Children are born musical, so now is the time to nurture that innate musicality!
The "Musikgarten" classes which we offer are designed to nurture each child’s musical aptitude by engaging children and their families in singing and movement activities which help attune the ear, refine the voice, and develop a rhythmic body through which music can be expressed.
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our class offerings. We look forward to answering your questions and welcoming your family into our studio.
Sincerely,

Please see below for timetables
Family Music for Babies (newborn - 18 months)
Play musically with your baby through bouncing and rocking songs, wiggle and peek-a-boo games, dancing, moving and singing. Music play activities are designed to increase your child's curiosity about music, to develop listening skills and a sense of beat, and to establish the foundation for singing and musical thought.
Family Music for Toddlers (15 months - 3.5 years)
Participate with your toddler in singing, chanting, moving, dancing, listening and playing simple instruments - while developing a strong musical bond with your child. Through activities that bridge the natural connection between music and movement, your child's musical aptitude and listening abilities are enhanced and further developed.
Cycle of Seasons (3 - 5 years)
Celebrate your child's love of nature and growing independence through activities which focus on the seasons of the year. Classes are designed to build attention and self-expression and include singing, chanting, moving, focused listening, musical games, exploring musical instruments, creative movement and storytelling.
Music Makers: At home in the World/Around the World (JK/SK students)
Your child is now ready for this sequential two year music program. Music Makers includes singing, creative and structured movement, playing instruments and ensemble work. Ear training and guided listening, as well as a developmentally sound approach to music literacy that builds symbolic thinking, concentration, memory and self-expression.
