Technical/Equipment Requirements

An Internet speed range of 25-80 Mbps is recommended for a smooth connection in your online music classes. Faster speeds will ensure a better visual and audio signal. You can increase your internet speed by talking to your service provider, reducing online activity during your online lessons, and connecting your device to your router using an ethernet cable. Use an external microphone and/or a speaker for your device. This will allow you to transmit and receive a clearer sound compared to the built-in audio system on your device

Position the camera so that it is facing your side profile, ideally showing the pedals as well. Use a stand, tripod, or even chair to set up an angle that works for you and your teacher. You can create a more comprehensive angle by setting up another camera overhead (keyboard view)

Make sure there is minimal background noise during your lesson. Ask family members to keep noise down, at least around the room you will be taking your online lesson in.
